  • November 2021, Rainbow, Animation short film, 2D computer animation, 8 minutes and 24 seconds. Position: writer/director/animator/editor/characters & environmental designer. Within the context of the Chinese cultural taboo that forbids dialog about poverty or financial want this animated film follows two children as they discover a way to give a Mother's Day gift beyond the value of money. Created for senior-year 2D Animation thesis film, California State University Long Beach, Long Beach, California.

  • May 2021, The Clean Life, treatment, 2D computer Storyboarding (7 minutes and 29 seconds) and a series of 17 pieces of characters and environmental digital designs. Position: writer, director, animator, storyboard maker, characters and environmental designer. “The Clean Life" is a story in which I meld the spirit / philosophy of a Chinese folk tale in which a ghost takes on the identity of various people by putting on their skin, with a western morality tale about the seven deadly sins.   • December 2020, The Power of Image: The Dangers and Benefits of Solving Media Technology, scholarly writing. Position: writer/researcher. A scholarly writing which, by analyzing and comparing visual and textual media along with modern and past media, posits that moving from current media technology into virtual reality and high sensory forms of communication, carries with it an inherent danger of multidisciplinary problems, but, at the same time, an equal chance that the outlook for collaborative possibilities will bring people and our society a brighter future.   • March 2020, The Bears’ Return, Animatic instruction of the animation film, 53 seconds, 2D computer storyboarding, a series of 14 pieces of characters and environmental designs. Position: writer, director, animator, storyboard maker, characters & environmental designer; A fictional narrative animation that describes a veterinarian who saved a bear cub's life with surgery to remove the bear trap from his front paw. Later on, the father bear & his cub return the favor to the veterinarian by saving her life from wolves. Position: researcher/ writer; By interviewing the Cantonese Speakers who hosted the Street Protest which sought to help preserve their mother tongue in 2010, this film analyzes why Cantonese is inevitably dwarfed in authoritarian countries. Created for my documentary film, “Diversity vs Autocratic Unification-- Urgency of Preservation of Cantonese”.

  • January 2019, In Chinese Folktale, Monkey King, oil painting and pencil sketch. Position: oil painter/ references researcher; This oil painting depicts three lady snakes who temp a monk. The monk has self control and stays faithful to his way of life. But the pig cannot against the watermelon which is also a trick and temptation from the snakes. The monk’s horse is facing temptation of the smelling of the follower also. The monkey is very alert in the story; he can see through the snakes’ tricks by his fire eyes; created for the Art597 course at CSULB.

This public welfare short film and corresponding posters promoted how we should integrate our social resources to help seniors to have a healthy and productive old age. Profile

After a career in China as a journalist and illustrator I moved to the US where I completed an MFA in Studio Art, Animation & Illustration Concentration. Understanding the documentary genre as well as animation gives me a unique vantage point and perspective on film and will allow for my success in film Screenwriting and Directing as I pursue an MFA in Film/Animation Film.

- I completed my animation film, “Rainbow”, with a professor and some students the Cal State University Long Beach. I am responsible for all the storyline writing, storyboarding, characters & environmental designs, animation sequences and editing. The professor created the music for this film. Basically, the team members will make all the things by my vision.

Documentary/Animation Documentary Film, “The Ripple Effect of the 2018 Trade War between the U.S and China”, June, 2018 - Present

I am the script writer and director of this film. I have been researching, analyzing, and preparing a documentary film about the 2018 U.S-China Trade War since 2018. Also, I have been working with a Human Resource Manager in order to collect her trading company's phase data, as well as connecting with 2 overseas trading Companies to trace their data and assess their situation since then.
